Mamadou

A West African man waits, day after day, at the same Utrecht tram stop for a woman who once promised to come back.

Synopsis

Mamadou keeps a small notebook of her habits, written in three languages. He has been waiting eleven months. The film holds his face for longer than is comfortable.

An ensemble of strangers begins to notice him. Each builds a different story to explain his stillness. None of them is correct, and the film does not say so.
